Safety Matters – When do Elevator Ropes Need Replacing?

In this episode of Safety Matters, ED/AD Regional Supervisor Rene Karavas demonstrates the conditions in which elevator hoist ropes require replacement.

While not a new requirement, with TSSA’s adoption of ASME A17.6 in May 2012, some clarity around the criteria for rope replacement will help both owners and contractors achieve the same safety ends.
